Francis Lai, born 1932 in Nice, is a French composer and musician, specialist in film music, credits and songs. He is notably the author of the music for the films Un homme et une famme and Love Story. For this last film, he received the Oscar for best film music in 1970. The film won several awards, including the Palme d’Or at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival.
